Cathedral City collaborated with Iceland for this year’s April Fools by releasing their mouthwatering “Cheese Cake”. They managed to fool the public by releasing this masterpiece on March 26th with endless cheese lovers chasing the release date, disappointed to discover on April 1st it was just another prank. However, they have come back to say “This was of course a bit of fun for April Fools Day, but due to the overwhelming response, we might need to get on to developing a real thing…” So all hope is not lost for the Cheese connoisseurs out there.
Everyone knows the beloved Cadbury CurlyWurly, but what could make it better? Cadbury posted on their TikTok the “release” of the new StraightyWaighty. Gaining over 90k likes and nearly 1 Million views, I think it’s safe to say if they ever brought this to the market, the chocolate lovers across the UK would go wild!
We’ve all been there. Mid-shop, slowly seeing your trolly fill to the brim. Sainsbury’s answer to our struggles? The Double Decker Shopping Trolly. You may need a ladder to reach the top level but you’ll be sure to never run out of space during your ‘Big Shop’ again! Too bad it was yet another April Fools Day prank… although imagine trying to steer that with a dodgy wheel!
Shared across their socials with the simple caption “We did it. We created the perfect sandwich”, many people ran to the comments believing they truly created the perfect british sandwich. It didn’t take long for the public to clock onto Co-Op’s prank with hundreds left disappointed and requesting they bring this product to the shelves!
As much as we all love treating ourselves to a tub of Häagen-Dazs, we’re not fully sold on Aldi’s latest flavour. Haggis may be low on the list of sought-after ice cream flavours, but many Scots came forward begging for samples. At just £2.29, who can say no? We can!
We cannot wait to see what creative marketers across the UK come up with for next year's April fools to top 2024! The Digity team may have some ideas up our sleeves so don’t be fooled… What were your favourites from this year?
