Have you ever wished you could directly send your audience to an article or specific page on your website from Instagram, instead of sending them on a wild goose-chase with “Link in bio”?
Currently, Instagram prefers for its users to stay within the platform, so it has only given a limited number of users with 10,000 followers or a verified badge the ability to add swipe-up links in their stories.
The new feature update will allow all users to share a link via a sticker in an Instagram story if it passes the current trial. This phase of testing will see how the chosen selection uses the new sticker link feature, noticing if it is misused to share spam or negative content.
When can we expect to see the link sticker added to Instagram stories?
There has been no official date released for when this feature will potentially pass testing and go live. We understand it won’t be added immediately, however we hope to see it appear in the next half of the year!
Although we might see this handy new sticker on stories, there is currently no plan to introduce links to feed posts and other areas of the app, Instagram's Head of Product, Vishal Shah, revealed in
an interview with The Verge.
At Digity, we feel this would be game-changing for businesses on social media. To see if you have been selected to trial the Instagram story link sticker, go to your app store and check if you have the latest version of Instagram installed on your mobile device. We would love to know your thoughts on this potential new feature!
